Parliament of the Kingdom of New Albion and the Wesley Islands
House of Commons
The elected house of parliament, the House of Commons represents electoral districts from across the country. Composed of the Prime Minister, large part of the cabinet, and 201 members, the commons is the birth place of all legislation proposed by the government or member of the opposition. For legislation to go on to receive royal assent, the commons must give the legislation majority support.
House of Peers
The House of Peers is the upper house of parliament and appointed by the monarch. Members of the House of Peers upon their appointed are raised to the degree of a title of nobility. Unlike the commons, legislation does not originate in the House of Peers but rather the peers provide sober and expert thought on legislation that has worked its way through the commons.
